Revotech introduces UltraJax RJ connectors

LOS ANGELES, CA -- August 15, 2003 --
Revotech UltraJAX represents the first major innovation in RJ connectivity, providing high-density contact capabilities within a standard-sized RJ connector. Contact assemblies are housed in both the top and the bottom of the UltraJAX female connector. Existing, single-sided RJ11 and RJ45 connectors insert into the connector in multiple directions supporting multiple functionality, while UltraJAX, double-sided male connectors use both sets of contacts, doubling the capacity and functionality of a single connector. Revotech UltraJAX doubles the port count of standard equipment in the networking and telephone environments, as well as any others utilizing RJ ports.

UltraJAX for Unlimited Applications
Revotech UltraJAX was developed for multiple applications, and is available in RJ45 and RJ11 formats, as well as an RJ11/RJ45 combo. PCB-mount UltraJAX female connectors may be designed into current and future products employing RJ connectivity, doubling the port count in networking equipment such as hubs, switches, routers, wall plates, and adapter cards, and in telephone equipment such as hand sets, wall plates, and patch panels. UltraJAX is also available in standard keystone format for insertion into a standard wall plate. In the home, utilizing a UltraJAX female wall plate along with an UltraJAX male "Y-Cable," UltraJAX eliminates the need for additional splitters. One twisted pair wire splits two directions from a single UltraJAX female connector, supporting configurations such as a telephone/modem.

Revotech UltraJAX's design allows for the usage of existing single-sided, RJ male plugs or the new UltraJAX, double-sided male plug and "Y-Cable." The UltraJAX male plug provides contacts on both the top and bottom, using both sets of connectors in the RJ11 or RJ45 female UltraJAX. Current single-sided male RJ plugs may be inserted into the female UltraJAX in either direction, depending on the functionality desired. Secondary functionality is achieved by simply switching the direction of the male plug within the female UltraJAX, thus accessing the second set of contacts.

Doubles the Contact Capacity and Supports Multiple Applications
Multiple port and stackable connectors have become commonplace on networking hubs, switches, routers, and PC adapter cards, and homes and office buildings are pre-wired for telephone and network connectivity. Revotech UltraJAX effectively doubles the capacity and functionality with no increase in size, providing unprecedented efficiency.
